Welcome to the NEW Dyvers website Minimize

An Amazing Sprint to the Finish!

By now, you have heard 4th edition’s release at GenCon ‘08 and the official end of Living Greyhawk on July 1st, 2008 at Origins ’08 with a grand finale. Adventures can be played and reported until December 31, 2008. Regionally, we will have our own grand finale that will outshine anything you’ve seen in Living Greyhawk to date, even the core campaign’s own special ending.

Announcing Weekend in Dyvers 2008: Memorial Day weekend Friday, May 23rd through Monday, May 26th.

Weekend in Dyvers

WiD ’08 is four days of gaming with 11 slots of Dyversian excitement, running all the final year 8 events that lead up to our three-round finale. Revisit your favorite locations in the city as we struggle to defeat the hordes of the Pomarj. Can Dyvers prevail? Not without you.

Convention registration will not open for awhile, but here is the hotel information.
                Dates: May 23rd, 2008 to May 26th, 2008
                Where:                 Park Place Hotel
                                1601 N. Universal Avenue
                                Kansas City, MO  64120
                                (800) 821-8532
                                (816) 483-9900
                                http://www.intriguehotels.com/

You can book your rooms now. Book early as we hope this to be the biggest blast ever. Regretfully the hotel does not have online registration. You can book your room via the phone. To receive booking and the convention rates simply mention the convention name “Weekend in Dyvers.” We’re looking at a fantastic space with almost 10,000 sq. ft. so plenty of room to spread out. We are trying to keep the prices as reasonable as possible at $50 for the entire convention, and only $40 for pre-reg, and a single day for $25.

Official registration opens at the beginning of next year at http://www.warhorn.net/wid/. Judge registration opens as soon as we’ve finalized our events. We’re hoping to draw our largest attendance ever, which means we’ll need our largest judge pool ever. If you can run even one event, we need your help. Slot 0s for all events (including the interactive) will be held in a timely manner for all volunteers.

The convention itself offers all our Year 7 events as well as Year 8 events offered consecutively Friday through Saturday leading up to our all-day Sunday conclusion. Other events such as meta-regional and core adventures will be added where appropriate and final play opportunities concluding on Monday.

Adventures

Our CY 598 lineup includes adventures from current and past triad as well as author mainstay Michael Born. Dyv8-01 by Andrew Van Hooreweghe, Dyv8-02 by Andy McCullough, Dyv8-03 by Michael Born, Dyv8-04 by Kevin Elmore, Dyv8-05 by Joseph L. Selby, and Dyv8-06 by Michael Mockus. All culminating in the interactive to end all interactives (…and to end the campaign, now that you mention it) written by your very own Triad and a slew of volunteers.

Excitement prevails with the Lich of the Sewers, Markessa the Red, Markessa the Blue, Xullithan, Jander the Shade, Krembo Schift, Margus, Larissa Hunter, the Gentry Council, and Gnasher Barrock.

Meta-Orgs

With the impending end of the campaign, we have to prioritize our time. We will be doing nominal work on the meta-orgs and plan to carry them over “as is” next year. There is existing work that is done, and we will be releasing updated Gnarley orgs and the rest of the protégés we have shown. We will also be releasing the Business Project document.

Triad

All the existing triad have agreed to stay on and are excited about what we can do to wrap up the campaign. We hope that our excitement will shine through in our work. We also hope to engage many previous contributors, authors, and triad members in our final push.

Website

We are keeping the existing website up through the end of the campaign and will be migrating as much of the content as possible to a free host for posterity. As this matures there may be opportunities for the community to contribute.

Questions?

I hope that this answers many of the questions that people have. We will offer more information as it becomes available (especially in regard to WiD registration). Feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

We hope to see you around for the next 16 months of play in Greyhawk and our grand finale at Weekend in Dyvers ’08. I expect to see many of you in other campaigns as 4th Edition rolls out, but until then, there is still a lot of fun to be had.

Thanks,
Michael Mockus
